Subscription & Billing Terms

Last Updated: August 6, 2026

Claiming and managing your LawyerCheck profile is free. Replying to reviews, receiving new-review notifications, adding your photo and bio, and editing your profile are all included at no cost. You are never required to pay to claim or manage your profile. These Billing Terms apply only to the optional Premium subscription ($5/month), which unlocks additional premium features described below.

These Subscription & Billing Terms ("Billing Terms") govern the optional Premium subscription for attorneys on LawyerCheck, operated by RMA Media LLC ("Company," "we," "our," or "us"). They supplement, and are incorporated into, our Terms of Service. Claiming and managing a profile does not require a subscription. By starting a free trial or purchasing a Premium subscription, you agree to these Billing Terms. If any conflict exists between these Billing Terms and the Terms of Service regarding billing, these Billing Terms control.

1. Eligibility

The optional Premium subscription is available only to licensed attorneys (or their authorized representatives) who have claimed their own professional profile. By subscribing, you represent that you are the attorney identified on the profile or are authorized to act on that attorney's behalf, and that the information you provide is accurate.

2. What's Free vs. Premium

Free (no subscription required): claiming your profile, replying to reviews, new-review notifications, adding your photo and bio, and editing your firm details and practice areas.

Premium subscription — $5.00 USD per month: the optional Premium subscription unlocks additional features such as featured placement in search results, priority ranking above free profiles, a premium badge, and profile analytics. It is billed on a recurring monthly basis and is exclusive of any applicable taxes. We reserve the right to change the specific premium features, and to offer different plans, promotional rates, or discounts, which may be governed by additional terms disclosed at the time of the offer.

3. Free Trial

New subscriptions may include a three (3) day free trial. You will not be charged during the trial period. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription and your payment method will be charged the applicable subscription fee. Free trials are limited to one per attorney/profile and may not be combined with other offers. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue free trials at any time.

4. Automatic Renewal and Recurring Billing

Subscriptions renew automatically. By subscribing, you authorize us and our payment processor to charge your payment method on a recurring basis (monthly) at the then-current price, plus applicable taxes, until you cancel. Each renewal is a new purchase. The subscription will continue to renew automatically until canceled by you or terminated by us in accordance with these Billing Terms.

5. Payment Processing

Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc., a third-party payment processor. Your use of Stripe's services is subject to Stripe's own terms and privacy policy. We do not collect, receive, or store your full payment card number or security code. That information is handled directly by Stripe. You are responsible for providing and maintaining a valid, current payment method.

6. Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your attorney dashboard or by contacting us at general@lawyercheck.dev. Cancellation stops future renewals. When you cancel, your subscription remains active through the end of the current paid billing period, and you will not be charged again after that. To avoid being charged for the first paid month, you must cancel before your free trial ends.

7. Refunds

Except where required by applicable law, subscription fees are non-refundable, and we do not provide refunds or credits for partial billing periods, unused time, or downgrades. Canceling stops future charges but does not retroactively refund a period already billed. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us at general@lawyercheck.dev and we will review your request in good faith. Nothing in this section limits any non-waivable rights you may have under applicable consumer-protection law.

8. Price Changes

We may change subscription prices from time to time. We will provide advance notice of any price increase to the email associated with your account, and the new price will apply to your next billing cycle after the notice period. If you do not agree to a price change, you may cancel before it takes effect. Continued use of the subscription after a price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new price.

9. Failed Payments and Past-Due Accounts

If a charge fails (for example, due to an expired or declined card), we and our payment processor may retry the charge. If payment cannot be collected, your subscription may be marked past due and your premium features may be suspended or deactivated until payment is successfully processed. Your profile and its free features remain active. You remain responsible for amounts owed for periods during which the subscription was active.

10. Chargebacks and Disputes

If you have a billing concern, please contact us first so we can resolve it. Initiating a chargeback or payment dispute without first contacting us may result in suspension or termination of your subscription and account. We reserve the right to dispute chargebacks we believe are invalid and to provide our payment processor with records of your account activity and these Billing Terms.

11. Taxes

Subscription prices do not include taxes. You are responsible for any sales, use, value-added, or similar taxes imposed on your subscription, and we may collect such taxes where required by law.

12. Your Free Profile Is Always Yours

A Premium subscription is entirely optional. Claiming your profile, replying to reviews, receiving new-review notifications, editing your profile, and browsing the platform remain free at all times. Canceling Premium, or never purchasing it, does not delete your profile or remove your free features. It only disables the premium features described in Section 2.

13. Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate a subscription for non-payment, violation of our Terms of Service, fraudulent or abusive activity, or as otherwise permitted by law. Where we terminate a subscription without cause, we will, where required, provide a pro-rated refund of any prepaid, unused period.

14. Changes to These Billing Terms

We may update these Billing Terms from time to time. Material changes affecting your billing will be communicated as described above or by posting an updated version with a revised "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of a paid subscription after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Billing Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Billing Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles, and are subject to the dispute-resolution and governing-law provisions of our Terms of Service.
